Dr. Okorie Okoro Ndukwe

A brief profile about Dr. Okorie Okoro Ndukwe. 

Dr. Okorie O. Ndukwe is a Senior Lecturer and Ag.Head of Department, Crop Science and Horticulture, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka since 2010. He holds a B. Agric (Hons.) degree in Agronomy from the prestigious Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. He was the best graduating student of the College of Crop and Soil Sciences. He was selected, as a Research Student, to conduct his M.Sc research work in International Institute for Tropical Agriculture through which he was awarded Master of Science (Crop Production and Physiology) in 2010 also from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. Dr. Ndukwe holds Ph.D degree in Tropical Fruits and Plantation Crops from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He teaches both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in Crop Production, Crop Physiology and Horticulture, with specialization in Tropical Fruits and Plantation Crops. He has experience in biostatistics and currently using different statistical software applications to analyze data of Researchers. He has served in several areas within and outside the University. Major areas include Sub-Dean, Faculty of Agriculture (2019-2021), Faculty ICT Officer (2015-2021), Faculty Students Adviser (2012-2021), Faculty Sports Representative (2012-2020), Postgraduate Coordinator (2019-2021) and several Committees. Dr. Ndukwe works mainly in the following areas of specialization: production of horticultural crops, especially indigenous and underutilized crops; plantain and banana cultivation, passion fruit production. He has published many articles in indexed and high Impact Factor Journals with many In Press. He is a member of Professional bodies such as International Society for Horticultural Sciences, Horticultural Society of Nigeria, Crop Science Society of Nigeria, and Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria. He has attended relevant Conferences and Trainings. He is also Crop Production Consultant for Government and the private farmers. Dr. Okorie Ndukwe is a team player and strongly have passion for multidisciplinary and collaborative researches geared towards improving the livelihood of farmers, young people and the society at large.
