Professor Nkiru T. Meludu is the incumbent Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Her area of research specialization includes food and nutrition security, agricultural extension/advisory services, home economics, ecological organic agriculture and climate change. She undertook a post-doctoral fellowship in Japan, from 1998 to 2000 at the National Institute of Agricultural Research, Tsukuba, sponsored by Japanese International Science and Technology Exchange Centre. She became a Professor in 2010 at the University of Ibadan. Professor N. T. Meludu has attended several certificate training relating to Principle and Practice of Organic Agriculture System Ibadan, Food and Nutrition Security and HIV/AIDS in Wageningen, Netherland. Other training attended relates to ecological organic agriculture value chains, entrepreneurship and market information collection, local inspectors in Organic Agriculture, financial management and project implementation and value chain development programme (VCDP). Since 2018, Prof. Meludu has been organizing nutrition intervention training for Agricultural Extension Agents, VCDP Staff and value chain farmers in Anambra State. She has equally participated in Governance, Food Safety and International Food Chains courses in Netherlands. She is the Vice President of Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria. Treasurer Association of Deans of Agriculture in Nigeria. Professor Nkiru T. Meludu is a recipient of the LKSP, STA, NFP, OKP fellowships. She is the brain behind the establishment of “Farmers and Consumers Forum” a Radio Programme for the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension and which has been operational at UNIZIK FM 94.1 since 2016.
